Fabrication Artisanale Française Notre savoir-faire en Provence

Through my creations, I have combined craftsmanship and design. My background in product design informs my approach: I see jewelry as an encounter between idea, material, and the body. I have therefore blended my designer's perspective with my artisanal work, which is characterized by its slowness and the dialogue between the hand and the material. Working by hand means being able to shape metal with care and precision. It also means situating a creation within a temporal framework. Each inspiration and observation evolves over time, giving each piece of jewelry its unique character.

Manufacturing process

Each jewelry creation begins with an idea sculpted in wax, before taking shape in 925 silver using the lost-wax casting technique, an age-old artisanal skill.

Main stages of creation

Drawing

I create sketches ranging from the outline of a pearl to the design of the overall structure of a piece of jewelry, to consider both the detail and its harmony on the body.

Wax sculpture

I shape each bead in wax, which allows me to get a sense of the volumes in order to adapt them to the body, but also to finalize the bead in its details.

Bronze casting

From the wax models, I make a first lost-wax casting in bronze in order to transform these beads into metal.

Mold making

I melt rubber onto the bronze beads to create a mold that allows me to reproduce the beads in small series, guaranteeing authentic craftsmanship.

Wax injection

Then comes the time to use these molds by injecting liquid wax which will solidify and take the shape of the bead models

Tree

I hand-finish my wax beads if necessary and then assemble them on a “tree”. This is a tree-like structure made up of a trunk and wax branches that hold “fruits” which are actually the beads.

Plaster

This tree, composed of numerous beads, is placed in a cylinder and covered with plaster. It is then placed in a kiln. During firing, the plaster will harden and the wax will melt and escape, leaving a plaster mold ready to receive the metal.

Silver casting

Once the plaster mold is made, I inject molten 925 silver inside to obtain a metal tree.

Polishing

The metal tree will then be cut open to collect each bead. They will then be polished, textured and patiently worked by hand, to create unique handcrafted jewelry.

Assembly

Finally, the beads are strung on chains to create necklaces, bracelets, and other refined pieces. Each step is carried out with care to preserve the authenticity and originality of each piece. This is what gives my jewelry its unique and lasting character.

Punching

Each piece of jewelry will then be hallmarked to bear my artisan's mark. It's a symbol of identity and authenticity.

Unique creations

Choosing a Synonys piece of jewelry means supporting the work of an independent designer and owning a piece born from human values and a commitment to craftsmanship. Each piece is carefully designed within collections inspired by nature and guided by an ethical and responsible approach. Choosing a Synonys piece also means benefiting from a unique creation and acquiring a meaningful item.

A unique piece of jewelry? Yes! Because handcrafted pieces are authentic, and the work of the hand generates slight variations on each piece, unlike mass-produced, uniform items. Here, each piece tells a story and embodies unique craftsmanship.

The creation of the molds is also a factor in uniqueness: while they allow for the reproduction of beads in small series, each mold sometimes contains several beads with similar styles and different curves. During assembly, I select from these beads, and their variations in shape and position make each piece truly unique.
